DESCRIPTION:Join Our Science Equipment Fundraiser\n \nSupport the Science Laboratory Upgrade at Mfantsipim School\nWe are raising funds to transform the science laboratories at Mfantsipim into centres of excellence and innovation. Our immediate focus is to acquire 75 additional microscopes\, bringing the total to 100 across the senior and junior labs. \nOur broader target is to raise £20\,000 as part of Phase 1 of a larger lab enhancement plan—laying the groundwork for a state-of-the-art Science and STEM Laboratory. \nSo far\, £7\,000 has been raised in 2024\, and we invite your support to help us bridge the gap. \n🎯 Why This Matters\n\nTo equip students for success in WASSCE and future academic paths.\nTo offer practical\, hands-on learning experiences in modern lab settings.\nTo promote inter-school collaboration by sharing lab resources with other institutions.\nTo protect the investment in science equipment by implementing robust security and monitoring solutions.\nTo enhance teaching and demonstration through audiovisual technology.\n\n🧪 Our Progress So Far\n\nIn 2016\, Tullow Oil supported key infrastructure upgrades.\nIn August 2023\, as part of Phase 1 of our Science Lab transformation\, Mfantsipim Foundation donated 26 microscopes and other equipment valued at up to £6\,000.\nAccording to both the Headmaster and the Head of Science\, these contributions played a role in Mfantsipim winning the National Science and Maths Quiz last year.\nFebruary 2025\, five large television screens were shipped to support audiovisual learning as part of the lab transformation.\n\n🤝 Partner With Us\nWith your generous support\, we can reach our goal—and go beyond. DESCRIPTION:Professor Ossei-Gerning has 30 years’ experience as a general and interventional cardiologist. He has been a speaker both nationally and internationally on various aspects of general and interventional cardiology\, as well as men’s health.  \nProfessor Ossei-Gerning has previously performed live cases nationally and internationally and has set up a heart centre in Ghana\, where he remains a visiting Professor. \nProfessor Ossei-Gerning has worked on angiotensin converting enzyme in relation to the extent of coronary artery disease was selected as Judges Choice (top 7) at the British Cardiac Society\, 1995. He was the Supervisor at the Heart Research Fund for Wales to work on Masters of Biomedical Research during 2014/15\, as wll ad the Supervisor of Reasrch Fellow achieving Distinction in Master of Biomedical Research. \nIn 2016\, Professor Ossei-Gerning was the Professor of Practice at the University of Wales\, Trinity St David’s.   \nIn the 2024 New Years Honors list\, Professor Ossei-Gerning was awarded an OBE for his services to interventional cardiology\, as well as his work in Ghana. \nBio ref. https://www.stjosephshospital.co.uk/consultants/professor-nicholas-ossei-gerning/ \n\n
